Privacy policy
This policy explains what we collect on talon5labs.com and in our Pack Pal app, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
Who we are
Talon 5 Labs LLC is a Colorado limited liability company based in Longmont, Colorado. You can reach us at hello@talon5labs.com.
Pack Pal is a trade name of Talon 5 Labs LLC.
This website
The site has no accounts, no sales and no payments. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
Like any website, our hosting provider's servers also receive basic technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for. We do not use this to identify you.
How we use it
We use what you send us to read your note and write back to you. We do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
The Pack Pal app
Pack Pal helps you plan food for backpacking trips. To do that, it keeps the trip and meal plans you create in your account.
Elevation: for each day of a trip, Pack Pal keeps only your highest elevation for that day. It never keeps your route or your coordinates.
Subscriptions: purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat keeps a record tied to your account for this purpose. We never see or store your payment card details.
Calorie figures in Pack Pal are estimates, not medical or nutrition advice.
Who helps us run things
We use a few service providers. They only get what they need to do their job:
- Webflow hosts the website.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on the site. Your browser loads them from Google, so Google receives your IP address and browser details.
- Google Workspace is our email provider. It delivers and stores email, including messages to hello@talon5labs.com.
- RevenueCat manages Pack Pal subscription status.
- Apple processes App Store purchases and keeps its own purchase records under Apple’s privacy policy.
We don't sell your data
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share it for advertising.
Cookies and analytics
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on the website. Our hosting and security providers may set a small, strictly necessary cookie to keep the site secure and working. These cookies do not track you across other sites.
How long we keep it
We keep email messages and our replies for up to 2 years after our last contact, unless you become a client. Client records follow the client agreement and our business and tax record needs. After that, we delete them.
We keep Pack Pal account data while your account is open.
Deleting your Pack Pal account
You can delete your Pack Pal account by emailing hello@talon5labs.com with the subject line "Delete my account." Deleting your account will remove your Pack Pal data and will clear your RevenueCat subscription record. Apple keeps its own records of App Store purchases, which we do not control. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription; cancel it in your Apple ID subscription settings.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information you sent us. Just email hello@talon5labs.com with the subject line "Privacy request." We'll confirm we got your request and complete it within 30 days. We may need to confirm it's really you before we act. We may keep records we're required to keep by law.
Children
This site is for businesses and adults. It is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Where we are
We are based in Longmont, Colorado, USA, and our providers may store data in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we will make it easy to notice.
